Why should I use an entertainment agency?

How much do the services of Steven John Agency cost?
There is no direct cost for entertainment buyers and clients. Our fees are paid by our entertainers to professionally represent them, market their performances, administrate contracts and produce outstanding performances. That said, our greatest interest is the satisfaction of our client…that’s you. Our mandate is to work with each client to satisfy their budget, large or small, with the best entertainment available in Canada.
Why are there no artist prices? How much is a show?
The answer to this question can be an enigma. As with anything, there are many factors that contribute to the cost to produce each show including availability, location, sound & lighting, size of venue, audience size, travel, artist performance cost and of course market demand for the act. Each show is different just as each artist is different in their requirements so there isn’t a ‘price tag’ that fits all inquiries. No two shows are exactly the same so standard pricing does not typically apply. Your Steven John Agency representative will gladly explore every opportunity for you personally and work through the costs to get you the perfect show with full transparency. We gladly provide ‘all-in’ pricing for every inquiry for the comfort of our clients that there are no hidden fees or additional costs.
Are there discounts for Fundraisers and Non-Profit Events?
Many of our entertainers do take into consideration the event type when accepting offers and may reduce their performance fees when a charity is involved. There are many considerations involved in negotiating performance fees, it is our pleasure to work with all non-profit events towards the most exciting performances.
Can I put an act ‘on hold’?
Yes, during the time that we are negotiating your contract for you and once you have made an offer. Please understand that professional performers have limited availability throughout the year and many inquiries for the same dates, most especially during peak times. All bookings and contracts are on a ‘first come’ basis to ensure each client and entertainer has the best opportunity for confirmed performances. With a signed contract in place your entertainment is secured, our job is to get you there.
How far in advance do I need to book entertainment?
We are very good at accommodating events with short notice, you can make inquiries or call anytime. It is important to note however that many of our premium and headline entertainers, musicians, bands, DJ’s etc book up to a year (sometimes more) in advance especially during peak periods such as November & December. While other vendors (catering, décor, hotels) can do multiple events in a night, each individual performer can typically only schedule once per night. The sooner you book, the higher chance you will have of getting the entertainment you want most.
How will I know which entertainer or band is right for my event?
One of our professional representatives will help you every step of the way, from presenting options that would best fit your event to walking you through the booking process. We know it can be stressful to put on an event. Our job is to ease your burden and make hiring entertainment the easiest part of the event for you.
